Jodi's Art
The sculptures are declined in different species: kinetics and robots, small sculptures, garden sculptures, wind and light sculptures, sculptures in iron, wood and multi-materials.
They are built with poor materials and waste: old objects found on the street, gears, electric wires and other parts of abandoned and refunited appliances.
Some are minimal, the result of simple and effective gestures, capable of shaping the material, of transforming the idea into an object. These works reveal the most spiritual aspects of Dimpflmeier's artistic research: a maieutic of everyday life, aimed at discovering and bringing out images and figures already present in what surrounds it, in nature, in things.
Other works, such as kinetic sculptures and robots, are extremely complex, equipped with sophisticated devices that animate them and sensors that react to impulses. These perceptive devices allow the interaction between sculpture and the external environment, the public, and between the sculptures themselves. In these works not only emerge the great technical skills of the artist in the electronic, mechanical, acoustic, but also its most ironic and playful vein.
In wind or solar sculptures the interaction with natural elements such as wind, light, water, heat, make of nature a real acting force which, through the movements of the works, takes shape, materializing the immaterial, giving body to energy.
In light sculptures, light is used as a real material: it produces shapes and games, crosses other materials, emphasizes their qualities and dialogues with them, reproducing their fascinating morphologies on the walls.
